Jeff Harding

Faculty

The hallowed ground that is Gettysburg provides a perfect environment for participants to fully understand the leadership lessons highlighted in the course modules. The importance cannot be overstated. The old learning adage applies better at Gettysburg, on the battlefield where men fought and died, than perhaps anywhere else: ‘I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.’ The ‘I do’ of GLE, the ultimate power of the entire program, is only realized through the battlefield visits.

Jeff Harding is a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park where his animated and personable style serves to engage Gettysburg Leadership Experience (GLE) participants from their first interaction. His approach has been honed over his 21 years with the Park during which he’s led thousands of visitors on tours of the battlefield. He believes strongly in the importance of this process of tying classroom lessons to the actual battlefield upon which examples of these lessons were realized. He recently retired from a 33-year career as a civilian employee of the Department of the Navy.
